Joey is currently working at the Provincial Government of Camarines Norte under the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and continues to work with the Research and Planning Division as Focal Person. He is also a member of Technical Working Group for Comprehensive Land Used Plan in the Province of Camarines Norte. He is task to mainstream disaster risk reduction and climate change in development processes such as policy formulation, socioeconomic development planning, budgeting, and governance, particularly in the areas of environment, agriculture, water, energy, health, education, poverty reduction, land-use and urban planning, and public infrastructure and housing among others. He also focusses to a more positive outcomes of humanitarian response and improves disaster risk reduction by emphasizing local solutions, sustainability and environmental sensitivity, in both rural and urban environments. Joey is a member of Sustainable PH, and a Climate Reality Leader. He is a Registered Nurse and graduated of Master of MSc in Disaster Risk Management at the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture in Sipocot, Camarines Sur
